Cycle tests and examination timetables

We have posted a composite calendar on the front page with all the dates fr the cycle  tests and preliminary examinations on the  home page. For a view of only the grade you would like  to see please use the link on the left hand side of the page. Please note that school continues as normal during the cycle test period with the normal teaching periods just being shortened. The syllabi for CAPS across all grades is very full and educators need all the time at their disposal to complete the work.

Launch of website

It has been a while in coming but the school has finally launched its website. The site is still being developed but I felt it important to start to get some of the information that we have on the site live for parents, learners and teachers to access. One major reason why we have not launched a website yet is the belief that the site must be actively maintained and be relevant. We have settled on a system that will in time be easy to maintain and allow staff to easily update and add information without needing major programming or design skills. Once some staff members have been identified and trained on using the tools it is hoped that the site will evolve into a communication portal that we all share and use. If you have ideas or suggestions feel free to email those suggestions to Mr Mosdell at

We are sad to see Mr Smith leave Norkem Park high School after 26 years of service. Mr Smith spent most of his teaching career at Norkem Park High School having started teaching at the school in 1985. Amongst the many projects at the school that he was responsible for initiating are the tuckshop area, the addition of 8 new classrooms, bricking  up the old prefab classrooms to protect them from degradation and ensure that they are still usable today as well as the basketball and netball courts being built. He will be greatly missed at the school for his leadership skills. We wish Mr Smith well with his retirement and we hope that he gets to see lots more of his children and grandchildren.
